Our storage units are a space for creativity and innovation to flourish. Today, we are launching our 2022 Community Art Competition, with a £500 cash prize on offer.
A Community Art Hub
For the past two years, our Bicester store has hosted the collaborative Bicester Art Exhibition.
Showcasing the work of Oxfordshire artists and photographers, the exhibition was spread across three floors with over 400 works on display, demonstrating a broad range of media such as print, photography, mixed media, textile, oil and watercolours.
We have loved providing a space to celebrate local talent, as well as getting to know the artistic community. Several artists told us how difficult it is to gain recognition for their work.
This year we are running a contest over the course of the summer for artists in our local communities. The competition is free to enter, and the winner will receive a £500 cash prize.
Pride in Our Local Communities
The competition opens on Tuesday 7th June 2022. We are looking for a piece of art that responds to the theme of local community. Pieces will be judged on the following criteria:
a) Creativity and originality
b) Clarity of theme expression
c) Quality of design, composition and technique
d) Balance of colour and tone
e) Overall impression; and
f) How well the work stands as a complete, standalone work of art
We have chosen the theme of local community because it is at the heart of everything we do at Cinch Storage.
Local businesses operate out of our units, and local residents and families store with us when moving home or renovating. Whether it’s Christmas, Easter, or the Platinum Jubilee, we always look forward to celebrating with our customers and co-workers.
How do I enter the community art competition?
Entering is simple – fill out our entry form to submit your digital entry. Please read the full Terms and Conditions for more information on eligibility, the judging and award process.
The competition closes Monday 7th August 2022 at 23:59 PM (BST).
We look forward to receiving your entries and celebrating the expressive talent our local communities have to offer.
