We thought, given our Bicester self storage is located in the heart of this wonderful town, we should shed some light onto our favourite activities and things to do in Bicester. We are constantly overwhelmed by the generosity from fellow Bicesterians, so here’s us giving a little back and helping anyone new into the area or any day visitors get the most of our their time in beautiful Bicester.
Our favourite place for a Coffee and Bite to eat? Bicester boasts a range of fantastic independent cafe’s each offering something different in taste and experience. A few of our favourites include ‘the Old Flight House’ which is set amongst a beautiful antique store full of wonderful and wacky things, and ‘Savoir Faire’ where you are guaranteed a delicious coffee or warming meal when required, all ingredients locally sourced of course.
Favourite place to relax? Garth Park is the ‘Jewel in the Crown’ as far as parks and open spaces are concerned in Bicester. With award winning formal gardens, picnic benches, a children’s area and a welcoming cafe, there is something here for all. Garth Park hosts many activities and concerts throughout the year, so keep an eye out on the events diary for upcoming events.
Activities for the kids? Moving to Bicester with a young family? You’ve come to the right place. Bicester is full of entertainment for the young. Ready to Rumble at Kingsmere Community Centre caters for the 5 and under age group, for those older we recommend visiting Bicester Bowl, The Rugby Club and the Leisure Centre.
Favourite place to shop? The Bicester high street has lots of charm and character and plenty of history too, but it is difficult to look past Bicester Village if you fancy a shopping spree. With over 160 retail shops offering big savings on usual high street prices, shoppers flock from far and wide to grab a piece of the action. For visitors the Village is located just off the M40 as you drive down the A41 and for train goers the Cherwell line conveniently drops you right by the shops.
Thrill seeking activity? While not for the faint hearted, Bicester has plenty to offer for adrenaline junkies. ‘U Drive Cars’ offer classic car driving experiences at Bicester Heritage Site and track racing around Heyford Park too. We are also big fans of the Windrusher’s Gliding Club located on Skimmingdish Lane, where complete beginners or experienced pilots can enjoy the thrills of flight.
