If you cycle on a daily basis, your bike is probably your pride and joy. It is the perfect combination of transportation, exercise and fun. And with it being an important part of your life, you want to keep it as safe as possible. If you do not have a garage, you can be left with no other option than leaving it outside. Here are seven tips on how to have the perfect bike storage Huntingdon.
Vertical wall mounted bike rack
This is a great way to store your bike/s if you have the wall space and unused part of a room. This is because the bikes are hung vertically on a hook. You can screw the hooks directly into a masonry wall or into a ceiling beam.
You can buy them at hardware shops, Amazon or specialty bike stores.
Horizontal wall mounted bike rack
These are in the same style as the vertical wall mounts except that these will have your bike hanging (You guessed it!) horizontally.
Again, you will need some wall space but these will not require the depth of the vertical wall mounts.
Ceiling hoist
The ceiling hoist is a great solution for anyone who has a home with high ceilings. You mount two plates to your ceiling with two drop down hooks which you attach to your handlebars and saddle. Then, you just hoist the bike up with the ropes.
However, this way of storing your bike is not the quickest system. It’s therefore best for people who do not use their bike daily.
Ceiling to floor bike rack
The ceiling to floor bike racks are a pole which clamps between the floor and ceiling which either spring or clamp into place.
They are non-permanent and extremely easy to move. This does mean that you will have to double check that it is firmly secure before you mount any bikes to it.
Floor bike parking rack
This will require a large amount of floor space as it is simply a rack which you place on the floor and park your bikes into and they are held in place at the wheels.
There is no installation required, you simply place it on your floor so if you have the space, this is an easy solution.
Now these five solutions all require you (and your family/housemates) to be okay with storing your bike in the house and taking up space/wall with your bike.
If you don’t want to do that then there are more two more options for your bike storage Huntingdon:
Bike shed
If you have the outside space a bike shed could be a great solution for storing your bike.
A shed specifically designed for bike storage is usually smaller and more secure than a regular shed but as it will be outside you do run the risk of someone trying to break into it.
Storage unit
The final solution is that you could rent a small storage unit in which to keep your bike. You would be able to set up any of the wall mounts or floor racks within your unit and your bike would be extremely safe and secure.
Our Huntingdon facility has top level security with 24/7 CCTV around the entire facility and alarms on every unit. You will still be able to get to your bike whenever you need to as we have 24 hour access via our pin-code system.
